Audi is the perfect epitome of German craftsmanship. From advanced, state-the-art designs to top-of-the line materials, Audi parts and accessories bear the signature of providing utmost driving pleasure that has been brought forth through the years---all because of the quality parts every Audi vehicle comprises.
An almost wholly owned (99.7%) subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group since 1964, Audi's German banners its tagline as "Vorsprung durch Technik." This is used either not translated or in its English translation, "Advancement Through Technology". The American tagline is "Never Follow."
With August Horch as the founder of the auto company in 1889, it produced the first Horch automobile in 1901 in Zwickau. However, in 1910, Horch was kicked out of the company he founded. From scratch, he started out again using the Horch brand.
His former partners sued him for trademark infringement and a German court determined that the Horch brand belonged to his former company. August Horch was forced to refrain from using his own family name in his new car business. As the word "horch!" translates to "hark!" in German, August Horch settled on the Latin equivalent of his name — "audi." It is also popularly (but incorrectly) believed that Audi is an acronym which stands for "Auto Union Deutschland Ingolstadt".
Audi kicked-off with the 2612, 3564, 4680 and 5720 cc models. These first Audi engines were the first batches that rolled out with a 4-cylinder engine. Such performance and power brought the company much success in sporting events. By 1924, the first six cylinder model, or the 4655 cc (4.7L), was introduced to the market. In 1928, the company was acquired by Jorgen Rasmussen, the owner of DKW, who also bought the remains of the United States auto maker Rickenbacker that same year. The buyout also included manufacturing equipment for eight cylinder engines. Then, the engines were used in Audi Zwickau and Audi Dresden models that were launched in 1929. After several innovations, Audi became known for manufacturing luxury cars designed with a special bodywork. The tradition lives as it currently introduces the 2006 Audi A3 with a 2.0 liter turbo-charged 4-cylinder engine.
The many years of industry experience and careful craftsmanship has catapulted Audi to be at the forefront of the race for automotive superiority. Performance parts are built with the latest technology and toughest materials for the Audi vehicle to perform like a workhorse even at critical times. The accessories give the functionality and the convenience, transcending the level of aesthetics it provides. Every part is crucial for the completeness of every Audi car. The transmission system, carburetor system, ignition system, cooling system, exhaust system, electronic and wiring systems, and other complex components are constantly being updated to further improve the performance of an Audi car. Accessories from the interior (seat, flooring, rearview mirror, steering wheel, etc.) to the exterior (lighting system, paint finish, side mirrors, grill, etc.) are meant for functionality and enhanced looks in different kinds of personality.
There will come a time that the luster of efficiency and sporty, elegant looks of the Audi vehicle would wane. With constant use and low-maintenance, Audi parts may be damaged or may even wear-off. At worse, they could even become non-performing. No matter how cautious a motorist drive in order to avoid accidents and other bumps along the way, undesirable elements like dirt, water and other debris will definitely come in the way as it may cause rusting, tarnishing, among others. And so, in order to maintain the optimum performance and elegant styling it brings, Audi aftermarket parts are readily available in auto stores everywhere. The cyberspace also caters to this need for quality parts as online stores. All these are up for grabs for a stellar quality of the Audi vehicle.
